VANESSA ARBUTHNOTT began her business 14 years ago, starting at her kitchen table. Everyone of her fabrics and wallpaper collections tell you a story, they all work well together, having a gentle pallet of muted colours ranging from Duck Egg, Straw and Sky Blue.
Each collection speaks for itself and all have different inspired patterns, Vanessa Arbuthnott’s patterns can be anything from hedgerows to the seaside, I found her patterns very homely as they create a warmth to the atmosphere and help bring colour to the room.
After some coverage in the Country Living magazine her business took off and she never looked back, her work is one of the most exciting when it comes to buying designer fabric and is so simple yet stunning.
The Swedish collection has drawn inspiration from some of the iconic British designers of the 1950s – but with a subtle ‘Scandinavian’ twist! It depicts simple images of birds and stylised foliage in soft Gustavian colours such as Dove, Dusky Pink and Duck Egg. However, for the first time, I am also introducing some bright contemporary colours such as Pumpkin, Sweet Pea and Lime.
